Hey everyone!! It has officially been a year since we moved to Nicaragua as full-time missionaries. This year has had its ups and downs but it has taught us so much. I think the biggest thing it has taught us is to trust and rely on God through everything. I think it has also taught us how to be so much more thankful in our relationship with God.
We started the year without a vehicle and the kids went to Spanish school at a Christian school. We added in Spanish classes once we got our truck. Then we added in visiting different parts of the country to help build relationships and even working with mission teams. We have worked ever since getting our truck in February of last year with a church in San Juan de Limay. This church has become our main focus of ministry and we have seen the children's ministry grow and change so much. We have also seen the church itself grow as well because of how consistent they are with evangelism.
In the coming year, we hope to find out the status of the special needs ministry and see where God takes it. We also plan to start a training ministry to help churches who have no children's ministry or a struggling children's ministry. The ministry will provide guidance on how to structure their children's ministry, and different types of curriculums. We are excited to start this as children's ministry has always been something we love doing.
We also hope to be able to work closely ministering to mission teams as they come in through devotions, prayers and preparation while they are serving in the field.
Our biggest ministry that we currently see for the next year is English classes. We will begin teaching English to children and adults once a week in San Juan de Limay. This is an amazing opportunity for them because this is not offered very often and when it is, the cost can be very expensive. We are so excited to be able to teach the people of the city English and about God all at the same time.
We don't know what all God has in store for us but we are so excited to see where he takes us this year in Nicaragua.
Side note...we visited in San Juan de Limay yesterday just for service. We were able to see some of the changes they have made for the new year with the children's ministry. They start together as a large group doing worship and prayer and then they separate into two small groups....young children and older children. I think this has helped so much with the children focusing and learning so much more. We are so excited to see how the church and children's ministry grows at the church.
Please pray for us as we travel to the states for an extended stay next week. We would love to come and share with your church, business, friends, or anywhere you'd like to tell them about our ministry and try and add them to our sponsorship. If this is something you'd like for us to do, please message us or send us an email mabefamilymissions@gmail.com. We would love to visit and share.
God bless you and your families.
